If you are a Makeup Artist knowing how to determine a skin type will help you choose the right skincare and makeup for your clients. There’s nothing worst than spending a lot of money on a skincare regimen if it breaks you out or it irritates you. There are a couple questions I used all the time at the makeup counters where I worked. 1. How does your skin feel after you wash it? 2.How long does your makeup last? 3.Do you have breakouts and dry skin? 4.How does your skin feel on a daily basis? 5. Do you have a hard time using skincare and wearing makeup? Dry skin- always feels tight after washing it, sometimes your foundation will appear scaly after awhile of wearing it, you rarely ever have breakouts,you skin is dry on a daily basis, you have an easier time using skincare because nothing breaks you out. Oily skin-you feel oily or greasy most of the time, your skin is acne prone, your makeup melts away or disappears into your skin,your oil production causes breakouts and some skincare products can cause unnatural dryness, on a daily basis your skin is slick,it’s very hard for your skin type to find a skincare regimen that doesn’t cause more oil production or breakouts.
