How To Get Rid Of Asthma: Ridding Yourself Of The Burden
More and more people everyday are experiencing shortness of breath and tightening of the chest which leaves them immobilized and feeling helpless. This is the classic symptom of asthma. Usually caused by irritation and allergic reaction, asthma is the bodys irregular response to drive out the foreign objects which causes these irritations. Muscles contract, linings expand and mucus fills up the lungs resulting in the coughing and wheezing in patients as they gasp and strain for more air. Whats more depressing is that, since asthma is a chronic disease it is incurable.
Severe asthma attacks can be life threatening in cases where immediate medical attention and medication is not given. It can be frustrating to know that there is nothing that will be able to rid you of this condition but there are steps that you will be able to take which will make it easier for you to control and minimize asthma attacks. The most important thing to consider when dealing with asthma is; knowing what youre triggers are first.
You will need to find out what specific food, activity, or irritants causes your flare ups. By knowing, you will be able to take steps on how you might be able to deal or avoid situations where you would be most likely vulnerable to an attack. Try asking yourself series of questions like; is it because of what I ate or did before the attack? Is it the activities or places that I have been to? Is it the weather? These particular questions will be able to help you pin down the source of your attack.
By knowing your triggers you will be able to develop specific activities or solutions that will best for your lifestyle and need. Exercise and healthy diet can also help you fight against asthma as this will strengthen your body and immune resistance in dealing against irritants that you might come across daily. Rest is also crucial as this will give you more energy to handle stressful situations that can also serve sometimes as asthma triggers.
Aside from these, it would also be wise to record all your previous attacks along with the severity and length, the conditions that you think triggered your attack and whether you were indoors or outdoors. By knowing all the factors that contribute to each attack you will be able to proactively discuss with your doctor on how you will be able to get more out of your medication or if there are any modifications that can be done on the therapies that you are doing.
Always try to be open minded to all the possible cures that can work for you, but at the same time ask for professional medical advice before actually trying out a new or alternative treatment. The choice is within your reach but it also requires your willingness, participation and perseverance to achieve control over it.
