The first factor is the amount of the peroxide you are going to put in your teeth. And the second factor is the amount of time you will let the compound to stay in your teeth.

If you will go for lesser amount of peroxide for your teeth whitening system, you have to do the process more frequently for a couple of weeks in order to get the best results. If you would rather go for a shorter period of treatment time, you may want to use higher amount of peroxide in less frequent repetitions. For home treatments, dentists usually recommend their patients to do the procedure frequently with less amount of peroxide to avoid mistakes in using the compounds. But if you do not have free time at home to do the procedure frequently, you can ask your dentist for the proper steps.

Both of these above mentioned teeth whitening procedures are good, but it is up to you to decide which one of the two are the best teeth whitening system. Different people that lead totally different lifestyles will not have the same beliefs and some might find the one procedure more appealing than the other. It all depends on you and what you enjoy, so you make the choice according to your own personal preferences.

With the over the counter teeth whitening you might even be required to perform the procedure each day over a number of weeks and skipping out a day isn’t a good idea. Therefore, if you think you will not be able to make it each day, it would be a wise idea for you to rather go to the dentist’s office and spend a little more money. At least you know that it is done and you don’t have to go home and do it.

Procedures done by the professional dentists will ensure you of less chances for mistakes, unlike doing the teeth whitening procedure by yourself at home.
