Another great food to eat when you are pregnant is fish. You need to be sure that you are not eating too much mercury, though, because there is a high amount of mercury in a lot of seafood. Tuna has an unusually large amount of mercury and this is not good for the growing baby.

Iron and folic acid are crucial when you are pregnant. Doctors will usually prescribe these as supplements so that they can make sure that the pregnant women is getting enough. You can also find folic acid in dark green vegetables and juice. Iron can be found in breads, cereals and red meat.

There are some foods to stay away from unpasteurized cheese should be avoided, as well as undercooked eggs. Meats should also be well cooked.

Most women that are pregnant need to have a nutrient intense diet and they also need enough fiber, protein, calcium and iron. This will help ensure that the baby is going to be healthy and strong.
