Would it surprise you to know that the best facial moisturizer is not actually a moisturizer at all?

But first what is a moisturizer and what should it be doing for your skin?

If you use a moisturizer it should help your skin retain it’s hydration. Moisture, not oil. And if your skin retains it’s moisture it is healthier, less prone to skin damage, more supple and looks and feels better.

As well as protecting itself better skin that is better moisturized just looks and feels good.

And many different moisturizers help protect the skin in different ways, for example by including a sunscreen.

But sadly there are moisturizers that can contain suspect and even dangerous ingredients.

For example you ought to avoid moisturizers that contain mineral oil. And many do. Why? because mineral oil coats your skin in oil and this can cause skin problems itself, like exacerbating acne problems.

And I also believe that moisturizers shouldn’t contain a sunscreen either. Yes it is important to protect your skin from sunburn, vital actually. But there are some ingredients in sunscreens that some believe can cause cancer. And if you’re using a moisturizer every day, as you should, then you’re putting on a sunscreen every day, which is unnecessary.

So when looking for the best facial moisturizer you need to consider the ingredients in it. There are ingredients in many skin care products, including facial moisturizers, that can cause skin reactions and allergies believe it or not.

So choosing the wrong facial moisturizer can in fact do more damage to your skin than good.

So, I’ve talked a little about facial moisturizers in general, lets look to see what’s the best facial moisturizer.

I believe that the best facial moisturizer is a range of natural skin care products from a little niche skin care company that I bet you haven’t even heard of, here’s why.

This small company makes a range of skin care and anti aging products that are designed to promote overall skin health, rather than just moisturizing, because moisturizing is only a small part of skin care and skin health.
