* Keep weight gain to healthy levels. All that surplus fat puts additional pressure on the stomach.

* Stop smoking. Not only is it unhealthy for your baby, it contributes to heartburn symptoms.

* Avoid caffeinated beverages such as coffee, tea, and soda.
